Adorable Arabella

Arabella came into the studio at only 3 weeks old! She brought mommy and daddy with her. She decided the night before that she was going to be up all night...so mommy and daddy were sure tired when they arrived! Arabella was wide awake...still!! So we took the opportunity to capture those beautiful eyes. I sure tuckered her out tho cuz once she went to sleep we went to town on getting some great images.

Look how sweet she is! Beautiful little girl...mommy and daddy are so blessed. I really loved her curly dark hair too! But look how gorgeous mom and dad are!! I can see where she gets her looks...:O)

The Unpredictable Photographer

yea...that's me...I've noted myself as "the unpredictable photographer"...why? Well, those of you who know me know that I have changed my logo a thousand times...yup...it's either becuz I can't make decisions....or I just have too much of a creative brain...I think I'll go with the latter...seriously tho....I'm always finding better ways to do things..my brain just can't stay in "normal" mode...haha...

So everyone on my facebook page has voted for the flower and not the bird....so flower it is! I'm staying with the flower...yep...the pink flower...flower...flower...flower...I did change up my logo a bit...but the flower is still there...BUT...I've decided to use the birdie too...as you'll see in my next post...the birdie will be used as my photo logo....he was just too cute not to use!

...don't be alarmed tho if I change something down the road...now that I am officially labeled
"the unpredictable photographer"...yup...that means no one can give me a hard time about it anymore!!...:O)

Beckie & Kaila in Sunriver

Back from a nice vacation in Sunriver! Actually got in a photo shoot with Beckie and Kaila while I was there. I have lots to share, but here's a sneak peek for now until I get the others proofed...aren't they lovely??...two best friends forever...these two are closer than sisters....

Wow...I seriously can't believe where the past year has gone!! Miss Kylie you are growing so fast! I remember you back when I took your mommie's maternity pics, then your newborn pics! Now you are almost 1 year old!

Kylie is a happy baby..always smiling...she LOVES the camera! Every time I put it in front of her, she laughs or smiles! boy does she make my job easy....:O)

3 beautiful girls and their darling little brother! This was such a fun session...the girls had alot of fun showing off for me! All 4 of these kids are used to the camera and they LOVE it! They've been modeling for major clothing brands, such as Hannah Anderson, Fred Meyers, Mervyns, Ralph Lauren...etc..they are quite the little pros.

Mommie says he's the best baby! Always smiling and so happy, hardly ever cries...I could see that too!! A 2 hour photo shoot and never heard a peep out of him! He would smile and laugh every time you said his name...I think he really loves his name! lol

Thanks guys for coming outside to play with me! I really had so much fun capturing all your sweet little smiles and bubbly personalities!!....oh how I love my job! :O)

I just had to share a recent shot of Emelie...isn't she so cute? She's 9 years old now...my how time flies...I remember the tiny 3.5 lb baby she was and the day she was born. I was so blessed to be there that day....she's the oldest of 4 girls and always taking care of her younger sisters. Two days...and 6 babies! I have LOTS of babies to share! My friend, Cherrie, and I spent two whole days last week hosting a workshop with Kelley Ryden here in Salem. It was an awesome workshop! Met 13 great photographers who came from all over...Washington, Vegas, Arizona, Texas, and California, plus Kelley came from Nebraska.....Everyone was great and we learned so much!

Softball Fun in the Sun

so last night...we went to my daughter, Nikki's, softball game...what a great night too! Sun was bright over the horizon...but it was warm with lots of family and fun....

here she is with a big smile on her face running back in....

Here's some of the team for the night....yea, ok, I'm biased..more pics of her than anyone else...lol..but isn't that what moms do? :O)

...and Kristi's dad isn't hurt out there in the field...he fell down after missing a ball...oh, did I say that?...lol...he's funny...at least he's out there...I'm sittin' on my bum...lol..oh, and that's DJ getting the ball he missed and throwing it in...lol

Nikki has been playing softball since she was..hmm....like 5 years old!!...yea, I remember her playing in the chalk that they used to draw the field lines...oh yea, and cartwheels out in left field....I think she was bored...she always like playing infield...I remember how she always used to throw the ball over everyone's head...even her coach!..she thought it was funny and she wanted to show everyone how far she could throw..oh the chuckles we used to get out of her! :O)

Looking for Newborns

I will be hosting a workshop along with my friend and fellow photographer Cherrie Cornish. The workshop will be taught by Kelley Ryden who is based out of Nebraska, and will be held at Cherrie's studio in Monmouth, Oregon. We are looking for newborns who will be under 2 weeks old to pose as “baby models” for the workshop. Parents will receive free prints of their newborn from Kelley, for volunteering for the session. I’ve posted some samples below. Strawberry Pickin'

Went out Strawberry Pickin' today...oh what fun! Got the girls their own little buckets..now they have them when we go again. Berries were pretty small, but we did get lucky and get some bigger ones...LOVE strawberries! Now we can make strawberry shortcake tomorrow for Father's Day! Yummm!!

So I came home...was cleaning the berries...decided to get my camera out and take some pics..they looked so yummy I just had to get some pics!....then I had the great idea of trying to drop the strawberry in a bowl of milk...ha...I've seen this done before..but I just couldn't quite get my strawberry to land perfectly...I had a vision, but I couldn't get it...I did was able to catch it once when it fell right on the edge of the bowl!...that was cool....oh well...I still got some great shots! Will have to try again tho!....enjoy...

Little Boy Blue

Today I had the great pleasure of heading out to baby Cole's house for a photo shoot. He lives a bit outside of town..in the woods, as I'd call it!....I just love the secluded area..and oh my..they had a nice garden growing too!...little baby Cole, who is 14mths old let me play with him in his room....first he tried to read a book, but quickly grew tired of that...then mommy blew some bubbles at him...but they got stuck in his hair...oh, then he saw my big white reflector and that was very intriguing to him..he loved hitting it to see what it was going to do..

his room is full of...oh, I think it's called Dick and Jane...but mommy will come and correct me if I'm wrong...ha...I don't have boys, so I'm not familiar with those! He had an awesome crib..with his name above it..we tried to put him in the crib to get a photo of it with his name...but he got very upset...he probably thought he was going to take a nap and that just wasn't in his agenda ....oh well...he has an adorable blue rocking chair that his grandma painted for him..oh and she even made the matching chair pad and curtains for his room too...so so darling..we took the rocking chair outside for our photo shoot...he thought that was funny...

this little boy can really truck around on his hands and knees!...he was all over the yard...not holding still but for a moment..thanks goodness I'm pretty quick with the clicks!...

...thank you Natalie for letting me come out and photograph your darling little boy! I really had a lot of fun...let's do it again sometime soon!...maybe we should get a blue cake and do a cake smashing party...even tho it's past his 1st birthday..oh well..who would know! lol

Katie's 1st Birthday Cake Smashin' Party

Little Miss Katie will be turning the big "ONE" on May 22nd! So in celebration of her first year milestone, we set up a Cake Smashin' Party!

.... at first, she really didn't know what to think...I think she was overwhelmed with all those sprinkles! ......they were getting stuck on her everywhere and she couldn't get them off....she tried to wipe her hands...that just got more on her....then she tried to shake them off...that didn't work either....then she got frustrated and started to crawl away....but wait! ....mommie pulled her back and said "smash your cake"!! Isn't that what they're suppose to do?...we were stumped...puzzled....bewildered why this sweet little baby didn't want to smash into her beautiful pink cake!....ok, mommie will do it for you...so mommie smashes her hands in the cake and gets a big chunk for her to eat....ok, now Katie is happy....decides she'll stick around a bit and lick the frosting...forgetting about the sprinkles stuck all over her face and tummy....I think I even see some on her tongue....oh those darn sprinkles!....the pink cake sure is pretty tho!.....oh she sees something else and starts to crawl away again....mommie pulls her back one more time...."look at your pretty cake!"...mommie says, smashing her hands in again....she puts a big fist of cake and frosting up to her face and laughs...ok, now we're getting somewhere! ...she's enjoying it now!...whew...and I thought this was going to be easy...lol...

....party over....baby gets a bath and mommie and grammie sit down for their piece of cake...wasn't that fun?....till next time...lol

In the Woods Photo Shoot

Here's the little Mr. T and Miss. B I photographed a few days ago. Today we headed outside for some outdoor fun!

Darling little Miss. B is wearing this cute dress from Matilda Jane Clothing. Don't ya just wanna squeeze her little cheeks?

Yep...that's a lollipop she has...she wasn't very happy...I think she was afraid of my BIG lens! So I just had to entice her with a lolli! Boy was she ever gnawing on that thing!...I finally switched lenses...I think she was scared of that big honkin' thing!

Oh little Mr. T...he really is a big ham! He loves his picture taken and just eats it up big time!
He really has such a fun personality.

Scrumptious Little Ones

Oh what a joy these two little ones were! I really had so much fun with little Miss B, and Mr. T. Oh how scrumptious and adorable they are! You just wanna squeeze their sweet little cheeks!

Miss B was all bubbly and full of energy...as are all 13mths old! She loves her big brother...he was enjoying making her laugh for him!

Adorable little Mr. T wasn't sure he wanted his picture taken. He doesn't really like the flash of lights...but I got him out there to try it once and after that he was fine. He said "that wasn't that bad!" After that he was all smiles and silly little giggles....just making it so much fun for me!

He even showed me his muscles! Wow! What a hunk you're gonna be when you grow up!

...and check out his cool hairdo! He saw it in a magazine and told mom he wanted it like that! ....I think HE should be the one in the magazine!

Matilda Jane Girls

I recently had a Matilda Jane Trunk Show, so we went out yesterday for a photo shoot with some of the girls who received their darling outfits! If you've never seen Matilda Jane Clothing before, you are missing out! The fabric in the clothes is incredibly soft & the colors are so yummy. Little girls LOVE wearing MJ because it feels so nice and soft to them.

All I can say is WOW! This outfit designed by Carol of BklynDoll is absolutely AMAZING! I love all the colors and the whole style of the set. Ashlie loved modeling this design and said it is so comfy to wear!

We were totally blessed with some gorgeous weather for 3 days, so perfect timing to get out and do a model shoot!

I had the great pleasure of photographing little Mr. "B" and little Miss "S". Oh aren't they just adorable?! They were so much fun and so polite. They love having their photos taken and made my job so easy!

Mr. "B" loved giving me his "cool" look and he sure knows how to look cool!!

Spring is Here!

I'm so excited Spring is finally here!! The sun came out for a while today...I was so happy! It's always nice every year when I step out my front door and see our little cherry blossom tree blooming! It only blooms once a year and it doesn't last for long, so you gotta enjoy it while you can.

Ok, so there are daffodils all over town, and even in the neighbor's yard....but mine?! This is the one and only daffodil that has bloomed in my yard! The others are coming up, but no other blooms yet! So I have to enjoy this one for now.

I haven't posted in a while! Wow! Didn't realize it had been this long. I've been so sick for the past 2 weeks...ugh...first bronchitis, then turned into pneumonia. I'm still battling it, but finally starting to get better.

Took some pics of my youngest daughter, Beckie, today. She's got to that teenage year where she really doesn't like me taking her pics anymore. I think I'm gonna have to start bribing her! She just turned 15...where have the years gone?! Well, anyway, here's one I took of her. Hopefully this week I'm going to sneak and get some more of her! But isn't she just gorgeous!!?

Oh yea, you'll see there's a new logo...ugh...I can't ever decide...one of these days I'm going to decide on one and stick with it!

Back from WPPI!!

Hey everyone! I'm back from WPPI! Had a great time in Vegas with my best photographer friend, Cherrie! We were non-stop from the get go! Took some classes, met some great Photographers like, Audrey Woulard, Jessica Claire...yea, I even won a pair of Bose Headphones from Jessica!! Thanks Jessica! So sweet of you to give out such wonderful prizes at your seminar! Met Kevin Kubota too....some day I'm going to go to his boot camp!

We also spent some time going through the Trade Show and checking out all the wonderful vendors and deals they had to offer.

I didn't actually meet these awesome photographers, but here are some that I saw and got to listen to them speak or watch them work...Denis Reggie, Joe Buissink, Becker, Ed Pierce, Sandy Puc, David Ziser (met him)...could go on, just too many to list!

I learned so much from these great photographers. The main thing that really stuck in my head was to find your own style, your own niche and do what you love to do. Sooo.....I thought and thought about this and then it clicked in my tiny little brain! I've been doing it all along and didn't realize that I needed to move forward with it!

I've been working with clothing designers now for a couple years doing photo shoots of kids, mostly my youngest daughter and my granddaughters. Now I'm ready to move forward and start working with Modeling Agencies and International clothing lines photographing kids in their clothes! That's what I really love to do. I also love my portrait photography, which I will still be doing also. Gotta love those babies! :O)

So in all this "moving forward", I've been working on creating a new logo. You can check it out in the photo below...on my photography site...tell me what you think? I'm still tweaking it....seeing what I like and what will work...but I think I'm getting there!

Have you ever thought about the Simple life of a child? Oh, they're so carefree...laid back....and their only worries are they can't find their favorite toy. Oh to be a child again! Well, no one wants to go back to the high school years...I'm with you on that...but hey, the little kids...they inspire me. Sometimes life gets so busy and I think we just have to sit back and watch the kids and go into their world. It's kinda nice sometimes! No bills, no worries....just play and have fun.

So as I was thinking of this this morning, I found this picture of Emelie....I remember her just having fun this day and trying to be cool! lol...so thought I 'd share my thoughts of the day. Enjoy & have some fun today! Even if it is cold and rainy outside! lol

Adorable little Sylas - 3 weeks new!

Introducing little Sylas Carter Thalman! What an adorable little baby boy! It's been a while since I've had a baby boy to photograph, so it was quite the pleasure. At least he didn't pee on me!

My good friend, Cherrie, helped me a lot and we had fun stuffing little Sylas in the basket. The adorable little floppy ball hat that Cherrie found looks absolutely delightful on his tiny little head. He's such a little peanut and boy, was he a good little baby.

I found an awesome red bowl the other day, I just had to try out on him. He was awake practically the whole shoot until at the very end when I layed him down into the bowl....awwww....such a little charmer!

Big Sister Tru came along for the fun! While baby Sylas was taking a break and having some lunch, cute little Tru got her chance to shine! This little cutie knows just what to do and how to do it! She made my job so easy!

I had a wonderful Newborn shoot with this darling baby, Kaitlyn. She was such a good baby! She didn't cry at all during the whole shoot until the very end when she told us "that's enough!" What a beautiful and sweet sweet baby!

I really LOVE this shot! My favorite! But the others are close behind! She just fell asleep and let us have total control!

I had a photo shoot today will all 4 girls! Whew! Boy was that a lot of work! Oh but sooo fun! The girls were laughing and giggling and being so silly I could hardly get them to sit still!

They modeled some ADORABLE pettiskirts from the wonderful and talented Wende of spoiled*rotton*girls. Bet you wondered why my post said that!! You thought I was talking about the girls huh? lol...ok, well, maybe part of me was thinking that...but boy are these pettis cute! Wende is a marvelous designer and such a sweetheart. Here's Miss Katie is this adorable soft baby pink pettiskirt with satin top and bow! Isn't she ADORABLE!!

She even had a pair of bloomers with her name on the butt!! Aren't these so cute?! Ha ha! Love 'em. I wasn't quite sure how to get a photo of the butt. You can't see her name with her standing. I just put her over the chair. Does it look weird? Maybe I should try it again and just have her on her knees. That might look better...lol

I had a wonderful shoot with the Posterick Family last weekend! We wondered if we were gonna escape the rain that day! The Lord blessed us with some sun and no rain! Tho it was still kinda cold, we made it through and captured some beautiful shots of the brothers and sisters with their mom.

Emelie and I did a photo shoot this morning. In one of our modeling groups they're having a "Spring into Action" contest. So we decided it would be fun to do something with bubblegum and candy!

This was so much fun to do! We were both laughing and she was trying so hard to get the jump right, plus get a big bubble. She nailed it first shot! Wish we could've gotten a bigger bubble, but oh well! She did awesome and I LOVE this photo!!

The site officially begins January 15, 2009.

Designers will contact Gooma Girls as they need models for their clothing lines. Then they will choose from the available models as to whom they would like to model their clothing. Right now she will be working with them for the 2009 year. We're excited for this new opportunity for her!

I haven't shared in awhile. We've had so much snow lately and I haven't even been able to get out and do much! So glad the snow has all melted now! I'm anxious to be back outside.

Since I hadn't shared in awhile, thought I'd show you my new logo. I've always loved the little birdie...kinda fits me..ya know...robin...lol...so here's my new logo with my birdie..A few pics of Ashlie I took I hadn't shared yet.

Our First Snow hit this weekend!! Beckie couldn't resist going outside and frolicking in the snow!! Well, she didn't roll around in it...haha...but she took a moment to enjoy the snow falling on her face!

Lucy is Beckie's Himalayan kitty Now Lucy is an indoor kitty...so she never gets to go outside, unless of course she happens to sneak past you one day while you're trying to get out the door!

I think she was a bit scared from what all this white stuff was!! haha!

Ashlie and I headed downtown Salem today. We almost missed the light completely. It was going fast, so we shot away. There's a great area right downtown with some beautiful light. The sun hits these spots and creates some fantastic light!

Course, she's always the little model, so she knows exactly what to do! You'd think I have her trained or something....lol

I'm tellin' ya. If you're a clothing designer looking for some cute models, don't pass up my cute little boutique models! They love it! :O)

Family Fun

When my husband's friend asked me to photograph his family, I was just thrilled! It turned out to be a beautiful day at Deepwood Estates. The kids, McKenzie and Charles were so filled with laughter and life this day. They loved playing in the leaves and throwing little acorns at the squirrels to eat! They absolutely LOVED having their photos taken and made things so fun!

McKenzie at 7 years old is such a little sweetie and was great at showing me her fun poses!

Little Charles at just 5 years old really loved his photos take too! He's quite the handsome little guy!Thanks guys for a fun afternoon and lunch afterwards!!

Her mom and I had so much fun with her that day! Once she settled down, she was alert and just watching what we were doing!

I had so much fun last night at Frey's Dahlia Farm in Turner. Went there with my Photog Group. There were about 10 of us there just exploring all over the Dahlia Farm and shooting photos of their gorgeous dahlias!

If you know me, you know I hate bees and if they come even remotely close to me, what do I do??? RUUUUUNNN!!! Yep, so I had to run a few times, but thankfully everyone else was so busy taking photos that they didn't notice me freaking out over the bees!! LOL....

My Kitchen Remodel!! Yippee!!

Well here they are!! Everyone's been asking me to see pics of our kitchen remodel! I finally got everything put together for you!

The Before photos show you what our cabinets looked like and when everything was gutted out. I didn't get a full picture before Dennis started tearing them out, so you're just gonna see partial cabinets here!

You'll see in #5 the standing pantry. That was just stuck there in the corner. In the photos of After, you'll see where we added a new 10' high pantry with pull out drawers!! Yes, I'm lovin' it!!

Photo #8 shows all our kitchen stuff stuck over in the sitting area, where it sat for about 2 months! That was not fun putting that all away!

Here you'll see our Kitchen After the remodel! Isn't it gorgeous? We LOVE our new kitchen!! I could stay in there all day!! We moved the refrigerator to allow more counter space and put in a full slide in stove. Before it was just a cook top and the oven was on the wall. Also added drop down pendant lights over the bar and about 4 can lights all around this area to bring in more light into the room.

We're still developing the "sitting area". Trying to get rid of that portable kitchen island over there! Then we can start setting up the area with a couple chairs, table and rug. That will be nice once winter hits and you can sit by the fire!

Notice our new kitchen table and chairs? So nice...the table actually butterflies open to a 54" square table that seats 8. The extra chairs we just put at the bar until we need them. Oh, look a little Lucy kitty sitting next to the table! Ha! Didn't even notice her there when I was taking the photos!

I'm posting some individual photos too so you can see more detail in the overall room.

Abbie had the opportunity to model this darling "Accessorize Me" set for Melody of Pixyworld Clothing. I don't think she's uploaded her photos yet to her site, but keep checking and you will see sweet Abbie modeling her designs!

This was really a fun set. The tops, dress, and shrug are all made out of a soft knit. Very comfortable for little girls. We just LOVE this set!

The hat in this first picture is from Chris of trinkets2bows. Such a sweet little hat! You'll be seeing more of Abbie on her site soon too.

Both designers are such great ladies and we really loved working with their designs!

Abbie, Kheller & Lucas were asked to model these adorable applique shirts and dress for Royal Rugrats. They had so much fun and were dancing around, singing, and just have a good 'ol time!! Baby K arrives!

My actual very first Newborn Session!! The B Family was so much fun! We really had a great time photographying little Mr. K! He's so adorable & was such a good little baby while we moved and propped him everywhere!

Big sister M kept telling us all "my baby brother!" She really loves her new baby brother and is very protective.Thanks you guys for allowing me to share in this experience with you! I really hope to do more newborn sessions again soon.

Happy Birthday Dad....We miss you

Today would have been my dad's 68th Birthday. Today I visited the urn garden where we laid him to rest only 6 months ago. I can't believe it's really been that long. It seems like just yesterday.

It's been hard, alot harder than I thought. Sometimes I see a picture of him and just laugh. Like this really funny one I have of him wearing a black top hat. For the life of me, I can't find it right now to post it, but when I do, I will post it. Sometimes it just pops up on my screen saver and whenever I see it, it makes me laugh. Other times, I'll see pics or think of him and I still cry. It's hard to lose someone close to you whom you see almost every day. But I know God is taking care of him until the day I see him again.

I took some pretty flowers to his grave today and watered the ones there. See the silver sturgeon fish there? Dennis put that there a few months ago. My dad loved to fish.

These are the last photos I have of my dad. We took them in the last 2 weeks of his life while we all visited and sat by his side. I haven't shared these before, it's just been too hard. But now seeing his grandkids and great grandkids all surrounded around him, reminds me of the love they shared for him.

Those are the memories I have with my dad over the past few years that we lived close by. I still think of him often, cry and laugh, but I'll always remember how much he loved his kids and grandkids. I know we meant the world to him, and him to us.

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry, I have been slacking in the blogging area! I have gotten so busy with the girls modeling and trying to start up my new photography business, it's been crazy!!

School started today for Beckie. She is now a Freshman in High School!! Ok, so I'll get a pic of her when she gets home today. She probably wouldn't have let me take one in front of the school anyway! ha!

So I did my very first maternity shoot with Kristin! It was so much fun and she was such a trooper getting up and down from the floor as well as she did!! I'll be sharing photos of that too. We are still anxiously awaiting for her to have this little baby girl!! She should be having her soon and then we'll be doing a Newborn photo shoot!! Yippee!!

Spring is Almost here!

Well, I do have to say....I am sooooo ready for Spring!! My favorite flower is lilacs!! I have 2 lilac bushes and they are starting to bloom!! Now if only the sun would stay out long enough to pop them all open!!

I just had to go outside yesterday and snap some photos of the lilacs. Aren't they gorgeous?? I can already smell 'em!!

I also have a beautiful Orchid I bought at Costco the other day, so I took some photos of it too!

I just have to share some pics of the girls modeling lately.

I got this "oh-so-cute" PINK CHAIR to go in my office/sewing room!! I'm so excited, I just LOVE it!!! I'm redoing my office room in a new color...yes, you guessed it...PINK!! Everyone who knows me knows I love pink! Soooo...when I saw this chair I just HAD to have it!! So why not use it in my photograpy too!!

Here's Abbie being the first to model it for me! This darling black dress with white polkadots is from Kohl's. When I saw it, I just had to get it for her!! So darling! The cute pink shoes you see are from sweet soles. They have some really cute shoes for kids! The darling bows were made especially for this outfit by redsbowtique.

Ashlie modeled this DARLING ladybug outfit designed and created by Jen of toadally*cute! Oh my goodness!! Jen is such a great designer and her work is simply impeccable! I just can't say enough about her. She's such a sweet & loving person and so easy to work with. We really LOVED working with her on this modeling/photography job. Ashlie just LOVES the outfit too!!

The girls just LOVE these adorable beanie hats from Jennifer of Jaybird Designs! Jennifer's talent in her crochet is simply unsurpassed! The little hats are absolutely flawless! Abbie just loved the little pink & brown beanie with cute little pink buttons. It matched perfectly with her sweet little pink sweater dress. She didn't want to take the hat off!

Ashlie looks so sweet in her purple flower beanie! The color really fits her perfectly.

Hey Everyone!

So glad you stopped by to take a look at my new blog! I'm finally up and running! Something I've always wanted to do and just never took the time to do.

I've got alot on my plate right now. The holidays are over, kids back to school, hubby working, I'm a free woman!!! Back to "my time."

So I got back to work yesterday. Still behind, but yea, that happens. I've been busy in my studio, sewing, and playing catch up on my work. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I'll be back soon to post more of the past happenings to get you caught up.
